Crewing Superintendent (1 Position)

Assist the Crewing Manager in taking care of crews recruitment, crews interview, signing-on preparation, rotation and planning, signing-off arrangement, appraisal, training, promotion, retention and etc. The Crewing Department will follow several standards in shipping world from statutory requirement from Port State, Flag, IMO, ILO, MLC, STCW up until higher industrial standard of OCIMF.
Assist the Crewing Manager in developing new sources of recruitment and retention plan in liaison with Fleet Manager.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
• Maintain appropriate crew in the pool to meet with statutory requirements and man TMC’s vessels as per their safe manning document.
• Ensure that all crews employed are provided with a seafarer’s employment agreement and agreements remain valid throughput their tour of duty.
• Promote and encourage more personal touch between all crews and Crewing  Department – bridging the sea shore gap
• Promote and encourage engagement with the crews in order to inculcate Company’s policies and core values.
• Build relationships with the Crewing Market in Thailand in order to close requirement gaps.
• Monitor and record crew appraisals in DNV GL and to recommend improvements to the performance management system  (appraisal form, recommendation letter, and training book)
• Prepare and ensure that all crewing activities are as the best practices of the industry and crewing documents are in compliance with MLC 2006, STCW including codes and guidelines
• Keep updated of ILO, IMO and Flag Administration regulations
• Assist with the execution of monthly payroll payouts.
• Conduct crews salary benchmark in the industry
• Regularly visit the vessels to ensure compliance with MLC convention of living condition on board and to keep close contact with the Crews
• Recommend better retention/re-hire policies for the crews
• Promote TMC ship management in the seafaring community by conducting regular actions and organizing special events.
o To think out of the box and analyses information in order to suggest improvements to TMC’s current procedure.
o To use the Crewing Management Module(such as DNV GL) to its fullest potential in order to ensure continuous improvements
o To introduce HR function improvements in the team.



Qualification :

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar position
• Able to demonstrate Managerial/Administrative/Leadership skills
• Have sailing experience – preferable at Senior/Management ranks
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to a changing environment and able to work under pressure
• Good communications, planning, problem solving, decision making and analytical thinking
• Good computer literacy
• Good English skill
