
QA&QC Projects Contest 2024
Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited, by the Technical Department, places great emphasis on continuous quality improvement and personnel development. In line with this commitment, the company has organized QA&QC Internal Research Project Contest 2024 for the second consecutive year. The contest aims to foster a learning process, encourage innovation, enhance work efficiency, and provide employees with opportunities to showcase their potential, explore new concepts, and collaborate on process improvements.
For the QA&QC Projects Contest 2024, a total of 14 projects were submitted, categorized into three main areas:
- Introduction of New Materials/Processes in Product Development
- Product Quality Enhancement
- Improvement of Testing and Calibration Methods
After careful evaluation by the judging committee and consideration of project presentations, the following projects stood out for their clarity, impact, and innovative approach:
Winner: Joint Primer Eco Formula**
Development and identification of new chemical materials that reduce costs by 30% while maintaining product quality and performance.
Researcher: Supattra Yodsungnoen (Nakhon Ratchasima Plant)
1st Runner-up: Alternative Chemical for CRS-2 Product**
Optimization of existing chemical stock for use in CRS-2 emulsion product formulation, helping to minimize unused raw material inventory.
Researcher: Maithee Banjong (Nakhon Ratchasima Plant)
2nd Runner-up: Reduce Testing Time of SAYBOLT Viscosity at 25°C During Production
Implementation of a correlation equation between viscosity values at 25° and sample temperature, leading to a 70% reduction in viscosity testing time during production.
Researcher: Adisorn Pitisuk (Surat Thani Plant)
Honorable Mention: Reduce Inspection Loss of %CaCl2 Incoming Testing
Development of a new method using density measurement to assess calcium chloride concentration, reducing testing time by 90%.
Researcher: Suppachai Somkhaoyai (Surat Thani Plant)
Honorable Mention: Alternative Solvent for CRS-2 and CSS-1 Product
Development of an alternative solvent for CRS-2 and CSS-1 asphalt emulsion products, offering a solution to mitigate fluctuations in raw material costs.
Researcher: Chatklao Kaewwichien (Nakhon Ratchasima Plant)
