7 February 2023 The sales and engineering departments of Sansun Civil Limited Partnership in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province collaborated to investigate issues arising during the asphalt pumping process into storage tanks. Our investigation revealed a significant buildup of scale on the inner walls of the pipes, leading to abnormally high-pressure during asphalt pumping. This issue was attributed to the proximity of the asphalt intake pipe to the storage tank wall, which was insulated, resulting in constant exposure of the pipe to heat when asphalt was not being received into the tank. To ensure the safe operation of our equipment and the well-being of our customers and pumpers, the Suratthani plant team recommended relocating the asphalt intake pipe to an external position, away from the insulation, to prevent the formation of scale caused by asphalt burning inside the pipe.
