Knowledge Training for Kasetsart University Students at Phra Pradaeng Plant

On February 25, 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Peerakarn Banjerdkit invited Ms. Panita Suttakhet, a Sustainability Development Officer (Phra Pradaeng Plant), as a guest speaker to share knowledge with fourth-year students from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, at Kasetsart University. The lecture covered waste management through recycling processes under the Carbon Footprint Organization (CFO) concept of Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited’s sustainable environmental management practices. Additionally, it provided guidance on career preparation for students before graduation. The feedback assessment showed students were highly interested and actively participated in the activities.

CFO stands for Carbon Footprint Organization, which refers to the total greenhouse gas emissions released from an organization’s various activities. The CFO framework consists of three scopes:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from the organization’s activities (Direct Emissions), such as fuel combustion from machinery, company-owned vehicles, chemical use in wastewater treatment, and leakage from processes or activities.
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased energy (Energy Indirect Emissions), including electricity, heat, cooling, steam, and compressed air used within the organization.
  • Scope 3: Other indirect emissions beyond Scope 1 and 2, such as transportation of raw materials by suppliers, employee commuting using non-company-owned vehicles, business travel involving outsourced services, use of materials and equipment, product usage, product disposal, waste volume, and waste transportation
